Many would hope so, but unfortunately this year's election has been marred by violence before, during and following the actual voting.
This week the BBC has reported bombs in both Bauchi and Zaria. The latter targeting the home of the Vice-President.
It is sad that those who are not happy at the result choose to show their discontent in this way. Violence helps nobody.
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,
then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
